About Digby
Digby formed in Louisville, Kentucky in the year 2000 from the chrysalis of the earlier 90’s band 100 Acre Wood. Starting with the independent release of Laughing At The Trees in 2000, and later the Toucan Cove/Label X release of Falling Up in 2004, and a series of EP’s in 2007, Digby swelled from promising local act to something perhaps a little bigger, playing shows across the United States, all while navigating a new music industry landscape that had to reconcile the existence of file sharing sites like Napster that gave away music for free. But Digby was never too interested in the nuts and bolts of the music industry. They were simply happy to write and perform their music, incredibly grateful for the wonderful people that supported them and the audiences that came to see them.
Roughly 17 years later, Digby has come together once again to record a new collection of music titled Happy Little Heartache - 12 songs about the wide universe of love, the narrow pitfalls of loss and longing, the cruelty of adolescence, and the beautiful parallels between the terrifying brevity, resilience, and joy of humanity, with the simplicity of the mayfly.
